Biblesta

Boy oh boy......we all looked forward to the Biblesta Parade.  That was the day that all of our friends, relatives, and love ones would gather in Humboldt.  We would line our chairs up on Bridge Street right in front of the senior citizen building which we rented for the day.  Janis and Mrs. Jackson would come every year.  Mrs. Jackson was my mom's very best friend  from childhood.  They would look forward to seeing each other.  Of course, Janis would bring her mother and park as close as possible.  We would see them walking down the sidewalk coming toward us with Janis carrying lawn chairs in one hand and holding on to her mom with the other.  They both had big smiles on their faces!  We would sit there and watch the floats go by oohing and ahhing about how wonderfully they portrayed the various scenes in the Bible.  We would sing as the bands marched by strutting their stuff as they played "Oh when the Saints go marching in"!  Oh yes, Janis was a saint!  She waited on her mom and anyone else  who needed anything.  She was loving, kind, caring, helpful, and joy to be around.  We would serve the hot dogs, chips, cookies, and drinks.  Janis would be right there taking care of her mom and my mom too!  Now she has marched on to heaven!   She is rejoicing with the Lord.  No more pain, sorrow, or worries!  She is celebrating with the angels and loved ones who have gone on before!  She is with Jesus, and I am going to see her again!  Why...because I have accepted the Lord Jesus as my personal savior.  You will see her again too if you have accepted Jesus.  It's not too late!  Jesus loves you!  I'm sure Janis would tell you that too!  God Bless!
