Minnie Evelyn (Haygood) Ham, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Minnie was born on January 7, 1934 in Washington, Oklahoma to the late Bonnie and Lula Mae (Wright) Haygood.
Minnie was united in marriage to Bobby Gene Ham on August 9, 1950 in Wayne, Oklahoma. Together they had four children, Michael, Rick, Deborah, and Jana. Family was everything to Minnie. She was a housewife and mother. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Being the wonderful grandmother that she was, Minnie never missed a travel baseball, softball, football or basketball game. When not with her family, Minnie loved to garden, her yard was the talk of the town. She loved to shop and travel with her sisters. They were often found shopping the deals at thrift stores and Goodwill stores. Minnie was a faithful member of the 20th Street Church of Christ Joplin.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bobby Gene who passed on January 6, 2002, one brother Lloyd Haygood, two brothers-in-law Donald Waggoner and John Sneed, and sister-in-law Alice Haygood. She is survived by her sons Michael Ham of Joplin, Mo., and Rick Ham (Allison) of Neosho, Mo., Daughters Deborah Harrison (Gary) of Miami, Ok., and Jana Scheurich (Cary) of Joplin, Mo. Eight grandchildren, Laurie Taylor (Robert), Bobbie Middick (Chris), Kristal Dahnke (Doug), Jeremiah Ham, Amy Tracy (Tom), Alan Scheurich, Rachel Shockley (Joe), and Braden Ham. Fifteen great grandchildren, Drew Howerton (Leslie), Caleb Howerton (Crosby), Colton Middick (Holly), Matty Taylor, Cody Middick, Cody Mayfield, Caleigh Middick, Drake Howerton, Madisyn Tracy, Gabe Shockley, Carson Scheurich, Brooke Tracy, Abbey Scheurich, William Dahnke, and Samantha Dahnke. Two great-great grandchildren, Hazel Middick and Jacob Taylor. One brother Byron Haygood (Andra), two sisters Barbara Waggoner and Teresa Sneed.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Washington Cemetery in Washington, Oklahoma. Larry Dahnke will be the officiant. Family will receive friends and family during a time of visitation Thursday, June 4th from 7-8 p.m. at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Joplin Association for the Blind and may be entrusted to the funeral home.
