After years of enduring the ravages of Alzheimer’s, Pauline Selsor Trapp, 84, finally found peace. Sunday, June 13th, 2010, while under the loving care of Joplin-NHC, she passed on to be with many friends and loved ones. Pauline was born in Jasper, Missouri February 18th, 1926 to Gerald and Alma Selsor. Both are deceased. She attended Rose Bank Elementary and went on to graduate from Alba High School. After graduating Joplin Junior College, Pauline worked as a secretary at Camp Crowder. In 1944, she relocated to Washington, D.C. to work for the Department of the Army. There she met Samuel Trapp, and they married August 13th, 1949. While living in the D.C. area, Pauline worked for both the Pentagon and the State Department, choosing to retire in 1966. She and her family resided in the Washington area until 1983, at which time she and Samuel moved back to Joplin. Samuel preceded Pauline in death in 2003. Pauline was one of six children. She is survived by brothers Charles Selsor (Joplin, MO) and Jerry Selsor (Joplin, MO). She was preceded in death by brother Chet Selsor (Oronogo, MO) and sisters Mabel Kutz (Webb City, MO) and Betty Byrum (OK). Pauline is survived by two daughters, a son and their families. They are: Sherry Hagell (Honeoye Falls, NY), her daughters Michelle Hagell (Seattle, WA) and Suzanne Hagell (Flagstaff, AZ) and son Sam Trapp (Rochester, NY); Terrie Fry (Joplin, MO) and her sons Lloyd Dodson, Jr. and wife Jennifer (Overland Park, KS), Paul Dodson and life partner Kat (Overland Park, KS) and John Fry and Lauren Pippen(Carl Junction, MO); and Jerry Trapp, his wife Karen, son Tristan and daughter Kelsey (Lees Summit, MO). One grandson, Bryan Fry, preceded Pauline in death in 2007. One of the great joys of Pauline’s life was time spent with her grandchildren, and this love was shared with seven great-grandchildren. They are Sarah Waynick, Kinnison Fry, Lloyd Dodson III, Ashran Fry, Ian Dodson, Bryan Dodson and Taybin Fry. Pauline was well-loved by all who knew her, particularly if they were lucky enough to have been treated to a slice of her famous pound cake. She will be greatly missed by her family, to whom she devoted all of her considerable energy, patience and love. On Friday, June 18th, there will be a private family interment ceremony at Ozark Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with Pauline’s family will be held at 5:00 PM that evening at Mason Woodard, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM with Doug Lawson, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel
