Obituary for Kenneth F. Idleman

Kenneth F. Idleman, age 94, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, February 20, 2011 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. Ken was born February 5, 1917 in Siegel, Illinois. He moved to Joplin in 1990 from Chicago, Ill. and currently resided at Spring River Christian Village. Ken was employed with the Illinois Central Railroad for 46 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the College Heights Christian Church. Ken loved gospel music and had played the guitar since he was 12 years old. Ken married Lois Collins February 2, 1935 in Williamsport, Indiana and he and Lois recently celebrated 76 years of marriage. Additional survivors include one daughter, Barbara Phillips and husband Robert, Kalamazoo, Michigan, three sons, Conrad Idleman and wife Marilyn, Sullivan, Illinois, Ken Idleman and wife Kaylene, Newburgh, Indiana, and David Idleman and wife Anita, Carthage, Mo., 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.
