I suppose thinking back on things tonight, the most obvious thing for which i am filled with gratitude, was Jim's consent to give his daughter's hand into mine in holy marriage. There were many other things of course which are fond memories... homemade ice cream, hand-crafted by the guy who did it best...history discussions on Henry the 8th... in depth questions and answer sessions on the state of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod....and most especially this very holy Saturday afternoon, the use of a personal communion set which I used to give the Body and Blood of Jesus at a nursing home, with three of my elderly shut-in members. I told them this was from my father-in-law and how precious it was and how many people had received the Lord's body and blood from it over the past nearly 30 years. So how do you begin to thank God for a person like Jim Stever you simply say thanks be to God and thank you for calling out to him Thursday morning "Jim today you will be with me in Paradise. Jesus is with you and soon we will all be with the One who gave His life that we may live. Happy Resurrection Sunday Dad, love Bradley+
