Obituary for Ronald Wayne Comer
Ronald was born on July 8, 1938 in Pittsburg, Ks. the son of Ralph and Opal (Gimlin) Comer. He proudly served his country as part of the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, Ronald was a police officer for the Clearwater, Ks. Police Department for many years before retiring 1983.
He married Linda Jean Norris on May 11, 1959, she preceded him in death on June 24, 2014. Ronald is survived by a daughter; Rhonda Straw and husband Bud of Joplin, two sons; Wayne Comer and wife Donna of Webb City, Mo., Kenny Comer and wife Kim of Joplin, two sisters; Vickie DePhew and husband Greg of Yukon, Ok., Barbara Crawford and husband Bill of Pittsburg, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel.
