Rita Gayle Baker, age 75 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Friday, January 13th, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at her residence following an illness.
She was born April 26th, 1947, in Joplin Mo to parents, Marvin Slankard and Ruth “Divine” Slankard. Rita Married the love of her life Arthur Baker in 1965, in Ventura California. Arthur preceded her in death January 13th, 2017. Rita is Survived by her 5 Daughters, Chris McKeehan of Joplin MO, Gayle Jenkins of Elkins, AR, Lea Ann James of Arnold MO, Tara McDonald of Joplin MO, and Lisa Evans from Joplin MO. Rita is also survived by eight siblings,15 grandchildren and 20 great children. Rita was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family above all, she also enjoyed spending time at the casino, reading, card games.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, at Ozark Memorial Park.
