Obituary for Brenda Lee Atkin (Tucker)
Brenda Lee Tucker Atkin, 76 was welcomed to her heavenly home on January 4, 2023. Brenda was born on April 18, 1946 to J.C. and Virginia Freeman Tucker in Maryville, Tn. Brenda and Don met at Johnson Bible College in Maryville, Tn. and were married on July 24, 1965. Brenda enjoyed her time as a church youth leader at Diamond Grove Christian Church and as a volunteer at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and an infant son, Ronald Dean.
She is survived by her husband Donald and four children, Richard and Deidra Atkin, Duluth, Ga., Donna and Steve Akehurst, Carthage, Mo., Jerry and Melissa Atkin, Columbus, Ks., and Robert and Marleah Atkin, Webb City, Mo. She is also survived by a sister Evelyn Paige, Maryville, Tn. Brenda has fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Diamond Grove Christian Church. Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2023 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary from 6 to 7:00 pm. Burial will follow at Stone Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Atkin, Jerry Atkin, Robert Atkin, Steve Akehurst, Christopher Atkin and Tyler Atkin.
