Obituary for Mary Marsh

Our sweet wife, Mom, Grandma and Grammy, Mary Pauline Marsh, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thanksgiving Day, November 24 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, MO. She was 88.

Mary Pauline was the only child of Roy and Gladys (Stech) Goff . She was born in Pana, IL on August 5, 1934. She graduated from Pana Township High School in 1952 and married Robert L. Marsh on August 7, 1953. They were married for more than 69 years. He survives.

She is also survived by her daughter Diana Rojas (Tito), 3 grandchildren, and their spouses: Dr. Roberto Rojas (Sara) of Milwaukee, WI; Priscilla Carden (Kyle) of Neosho, MO; Cynthia Wilcox (Aaron) of Montrose, CO; 8 great grandchildren, Cristiano and María Rojas, Hayden and Lilliana Carden; and Mya, Indie, Ella and foster child, K; her nieces and nephews and many friends. She loved them all!

Mary had a beautiful smile and a cheerful personality and never knew a stranger. We called her the “Energizer Bunny” because she never ran out of energy, and loved helping others.

She was a faithful servant of Jesus as a missionary in Peru, S. A. for 19 years and a long-time volunteer at Spring River Christian Village, where she accumulated more than 6000 hours of service. She had a servant’s heart. She was a member of the Christian Church of Carl Junction.

We would like to thank the wonderful nurses of Grace Point, SRCV, as well as those of Avalon/Gentiva Hospice for their special attention and care for Mary Pauline during her last days. We would also like to thank our friends for their love and prayers. She will be greatly missed by all!

A Celebration of Life service for Mary Pauline is being planned for the summer of 2023.

Memorial gifts in Mary’s honor may be given to Spring River Christian Village or American Rehabilitation Ministries, both of Joplin MO.
