Obituary for Lois Rachel Sheets (Baugh)
Lois R. (Baugh) Sheets, age 84 of Carthage, MO., passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO.
Lois was born on May 6, 1938 in Carthage, the daughter of Clarence and Lucille (Stanley) Baugh. She has been a lifetime area resident, she spent her days loving and caring for her family as a homemaker.
Our mother had a huge love for life and family. She never asked for anything for herself, it was always for others. She always prayed for Peace and Love for her family. Her favorite prayer was, The Lord’s Prayer, with some quotes added that she lived by daily.
Even though her physical presence is gone, she lives in the hearts of her family and friends.
She married the love of her life, Dewey Sheets on April 11, 1953, he survives. Additional survivors include three children, Vickie Smalley and husband Ken, Dewey Sheets and wife April, Shanna Potter and husband Brian; seven grandchildren, Kenny Smalley and wife Shawn, Krissy Long, Kim Moller and husband Jared, Cale Potter, Kate Potter, Cole Potter and wife Kayleigh and Daniel Sheets; seven great-grandchildren, Makenna Smalley, Alyssa Smalley, Amelia Smalley, Kinley Long, Dexton Moller, M.J. Long and Brynlee Moller; and two sisters, Janette Barnett and husband Merle and Faye Edwards.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, David Baugh and Jesse Baugh.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Church of the Nazarene in Carthage.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
