Obituary for Harlin Stoner

Harlin Garry Stoner, age 73, Joplin, Missouri passed peacefully Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born July 17, 1949, in Peoria, Oklahoma to Ellis and Catherine Stoner (Porter).

He attended Northeastern Oklahoma College, Central Bible College, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in agriculture from Oklahoma State University.

Harlin married the love of his life Drenda Bell Stoner on May 21, 1971. He founded and operated Stoner Construction for over 40 years. His faith was of the utmost importance to him, which could be seen by his involvement in his local churches, including serving on staff at Second Assembly of God and Southview Assembly of God both in Joplin, Missouri. After moving to the Gulf Coast, he was an active member of Church of His Presence for 15 years. Harlin enjoyed fishing, going to the mountains, and vacationing with his family,

He is preceded in death by his wife Drenda, parents Ellis and Catherine, sister Karen Carrico, and unborn child Levi Nathaniel.

He is survived by his children, daughter Tonya Malone of Daphne, Alabama and son Jordan Stoner and wife Emily of Joplin, Missouri, sister Judith Medley of Omaha, Nebraska, and brother Leonard Stoner and wife Glenda from Miami, Oklahoma.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 pm Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Faith Assembly of God in Joplin, MO. Burial will follow at Osborne Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 12 pm Thursday prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the missions organizations of Speed the Light or Light for the Lost.
