Obituary for Briann C. Therrien

Briann C. Therrien, age 33, of Joplin, passed away on Monday July 25, 2022, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, following a courageous battle with leukemia.

Briann was born on May 23,1989 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Beth Greenfield and Mike Therrien. She has lived most of her life in the Joplin area. She could be found with friends in her youth group, various music venues, and coffee shops. She graduated from Joplin High School in 2007. She shared her talents as a dental assistant for Uncommon Orthodontics, where she brought smiles to patients and peers alike. Briann was always joyful and had charisma she was never afraid to share. She loved music with a passion, and especially enjoyed singing karaoke with friends into the night. Her favorite place to visit was Nashville.

Briann always had a positive attitude, even in the face of great trials. Briann was generous to those in need, going out of her way help others. She was a faithful friend, daughter, sister, and mother. She celebrated big and with all her heart. Briann touched many with her vibrant personality, loving big and wide. She knew how to have fun and brought humor and joy to any party. Those who love her know she returned great love to them.

She is survived by her daughter, Ellie Therrien, of the home; her mother and step-father, Beth and Wayne Greenfield, Webb City, MO; her father and step-mother, Mike and Chastity Therrien, Liberty, MO; three brothers, Shane Therrien and wife Mandy, nieces Liya and Madilyn, Webb City, MO; Kyle Therrien and wife Kimberly, Ashland City, TN; and River Therrien, Liberty, MO; her maternal grandmother, Carol Ann Morrison, Carl Jct., MO; paternal grandmother, Karen Therrien, Derby, KS; Ellie’s father, Brett Ferguson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gary Morrison; and her paternal grandfather David Therrien, as well as her cousin, Treff Carpenter, of Colorado.

A Memorial Service honoring Briann’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd, at 10:00 A.M. at Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin, MO. Visitation will be on Monday, August 1st, from 6-7 P.M. at the Mason-Woodard mortuary.
