Obituary for Karen Ann Hamm (Goodwin)

Karen Ann Hamm, 77, of Raeford, North Carolina (formerly of Joplin) entered into her final resting on May 11, 2022. As a homemaker, she spent most of her days taking care of her family members and her many cherished pets. After spending most of her life in the Joplin area, Karen was ready for an adventure. Karen was born in Joplin, Missouri on March 14, 1945 to Jack and Clara (Flint) Goodwin. As the youngest sibling and grandchild of their union, she was greatly loved, spoiled and doted on by her older siblings and extended family. She married Virgle L. Hamm on May 9, 1970 in Carterville, MO surrounded by their many family members. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2010 after 40 years of memories created together.

Karen is survived by her daughter Traci Hoke married to Anthony, daughter Misty Calhoun married to Michael, son David married to Rachael and a brother Harold Goodwin of Tulsa, OK. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren (Ashlynn, Blake, Lochlan, Nataya, Brian, Caitlyn, Christopher, Haley, Kael), and the many nieces and nephews living all across the country. Karen was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Clara, daughter LeAnne Lynette Hamm, spouse Virgle, brothers Leo and Ralph Goodwin, sister Bernadine Noel as well as many of Virgle’s beloved brothers and sisters.
