Carolyn T. Tucker, age 87, of Joplin, Missouri passed away peacefully on
June 8, 2022. Carolyn was born on August 30, 1934, to Walter and
Blanche “Peg” Thomas (Turnbull) in Joplin, Missouri.
Carolyn was a trained medical technologist who attended Fargo State
University in North Dakota and then graduated from the University of New
Mexico.
Her life’s work was raising her three children and assisting her husband
Wayne I. Tucker on assignments in Dallas, Texas; Albuquerque, New
Mexico; Frankfort, Germany; Norfolk, Virginia; and Panama City, Panama.
They returned to Dallas, Texas for several years before her husband ended
his career in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They returned to the Joplin area
for retirement, but continued to travel the world, this time for fun. When
Carolyn was at home, she enjoyed the variety of birds and wildlife that
frequented their back porch. Carolyn was a member of Byers Avenue United Methodist Church.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 64 years, two children; Kyle Tucker
of Joplin, Missouri and Bari Pitcher of Neosho, Missouri. She is also
survived by seven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Connant Palmer.
A graveside service has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, at
Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Mason-Woodard
Mortuary Tuesday, June 14 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Arrangements have
been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
