Barbara Joan Lindsey, 94, of Carthage, MO., passed away on May 10, 2022 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center in Sarcoxie, MO. Joan was born on October 12, 1927 in Springfield, MO., to the late Jack and Icy Mae (Gannaway) Johnson. Joan and her aunt Loretta moved to California, where she had graduated from High School. Later She moved back to Missouri to rear her family and had become a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Joplin, MO, where she served her community faithfully for many years. Joan loved to read, bird watch and do crossword puzzles, as well as reading her Bible on a daily basis, but what gave her her greatest joy was being surrounded by her constant companion "Sweetie Pie", family and grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her son, Ron Lindsey of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Sandy Gonzales of Joshua, TX. and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as other loving relatives and friends. Along with Joan's parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband, Lewis Clary; son, Leon Clary; and brother, Don Johnson.
