Obituary for Nancy Ann Hailey (Leard)

Nancy Ann (Leard) Hailey of Joplin, MO, age 75, passed away on April 29, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born in Joplin on December 24, 1946, to Horrace and June (Peters) Leard. She was a graduated of Joplin High School in 1964, and Jasper County Jr. College. She remained a resident of Joplin for most of her life.

On July 17, 1970, Nancy married her best friend, Michael Hailey. He survives. They built a life together they both loved and worked hard to make each other’s dream a reality. After raising their family, they traveled extensively with Mike’s job. One of Nancy’s favorite places to be, was Arizona. She loved Scottsdale particularly and lived there quite a few years. She also loved the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Tx. She was the first one to offer her company as Mike made long haul trucking trips.

Nancy was an independent commercial and residential real estate Broker for forty-two years until her passing. She was well known for her personalized service to/for her clients. Amongst businesses, O’Reilly’s Automotive, Taco Tico and Sonic industries were prominent. She was very successful at what she did with many awards from NAR and MAR that reflected that. She also served many individual real estate investors in the four states for may years. Her honesty and integrity to all was unparalleled. She will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing or working with her.

She loved fashion and her appearance always epitomized that. In her free time, she loved working, tending to her yard and gardening, decorating her home, feeding the critters in her yard, playing with her dogs, Spacey and Livingston, along with her precious cat, McArthur.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Mike Hailey.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin.
