Obituary for Debra Katherine Bikus (Baker)
Debra Katherine Bikus of Joplin, MO, age 54, passed away on April 24, 2022 after living an exceedingly full life. Debra was born in Warrenton, MO on February 27, 1968 to Ralph and Sally Anne (McKenzie) Burkhart. She had been a resident of Joplin since moving back here in 2017.
Debra married Matt Bikus on March 12, 2011 and shared over 10 wonderful years together before he passed away in December, 2021. They created a life together they loved and shared many hobbies together. Their favorite thing to do was vacation, especially to Costa Rica. Debra was a beach bum at her core, and loved spending their vacations on the beach. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, Annabelle and Scarlett; watching the Dallas Cowboys, drinking tea while sitting on her porch, and meeting friends at the casino to play bingo.
Survivors include her daughters, Jacquelyn Wasson and husband Christopher of Seneca, MO; Ashley Stockton and husband Phillip Simmons of Springfield, MO; Brandy Stockton of Joplin; granddaughters, Annabelle Wasson, Scarlett Wasson, and a third one on the way.
Debra was preceded in death by both parents and her husband, Matt Bikus.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel, from 2:00-4:00pm.
Arrangements are under the care of Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin.
