Obituary for Jeanette Ilene Lawson (Smith)

Jeanette Lawson (Smith), 51, of Carl Junction passed away on January 3, 2022, at her home due to a sudden and unexpected pulmonary embolism.
Jeanette was born on August 14, 1970, to Brenda Whited in Augusta, GA. After graduating from Carl Junction High School in 1988, Jeanette went on to study Business at MSSU, graduating in 1994. This led to a long career in the family business as Vice President of Dean’s Custom Cabinets.
In 1993 Jeanette married her soulmate, Chris Lawson. In addition to a blissful marriage and beautiful home, Jeanette and Chris went on to have two children, Troy and Tyler Lawson. Jeanette considered this her truest legacy and proudest accomplishment.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her dad, Dean Whited and In-laws, Jackie and Dale Lawson. Jeanette is survived by her husband, Chris Lawson, sons Troy and Tyler Lawson. Additional survivors include her mother, Brenda Whited, and sisters, Theresa Woods, Lisa Beckham, Angie Cline, and Melissa Kirby. Jeanette will be remembered as a proud and exuberant “Gi Gi” by her granddaughter, Mayleigh Lawson and as “Aunt Nette Nette” by many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette will be remembered as an outstanding wife and mother. Jeanette loved anything with “bling” and Coca Cola, preferably in a Sonic Cup. She was incredibly caring and kind, and would continually try to help those in need. All who knew Jeanette would describe her as beautiful, fabulous, immaculate, and composed; but she was so much more than a pretty face. Jeanette never met a stranger and always made you feel welcomed. Jeanette possessed a sharp wit and infectious laugh. Most of all she had a beautiful heart. Jeanette will be missed by all who knew her.
There will be a celebration of life visitation at Mason Woodard Mortuary and Crematory at 3701 E 7th St., Joplin, MO 64801 on Thursday January 6, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Jeanette will be cremated in accordance with her wishes.
