Obituary for Leon Woolsey

Bradford Leon Woolsey of Oronogo, MO, went to his heavenly home on Monday morning June 14, 2021. Leon was born May 20, 1935 in Powell, MO. to the late Wilma Mae (Brauer) and Leonard Riley (Buck) Woolsey.

Leon loved spending his time playing the guitar and writing songs. He had a deep love for his family. He and his brothers spent many hours playing music and singing. He also had a talent for woodworking, was a model train collector and RC airplanes. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, and a member of the ATA Hall. Leon worked for W.R. Grace for 30 some years, drove for Burlington Northern and Explo Midwest also Maintenance and Security Guard for Treasure Lake RV Resort in Branson, MO for 10 years. He did not attend church regularly but loved the LORD and was ready to meet Jesus.

Leon was proceded in death by 2 brothers, Ronald Howell Woolsey, Robert Lee (Bobby Lee) Woolsey, 1 son-in-law, Michael Wayne Anderson. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years Junna (June) Lea (Holloway) Woolsey, also 3 daughters, Linda Anderson, Brenda (Robert) Brummett, Penny (Doug) Henson and 2 brothers Royal Woolsey (Christine), Carl Craig (Karen) and 1 sister-in-law Shirley Woolsey. 6 grandkids, Brandy Weston (Burt), Gary Simmons (Crystal), Corey Henson (Danielle), Donny Henson (Erin), Nikki Jones (Bo) and Josh Brummett. 15 great grandkids, Jordan (Levi), Kade, Kyndall, Aden, Ava, Brodie, Katy, Mea, Lyssa, Weston, Sebastian, Avylin, Braxten, Tadem and Kannon. 2 great-great grandkids, Ameri and Silas. Several sisters and brothers-in-law, lots of nieces and nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Mason Woodard Mortuary on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM. In memory of Leon instead of sending flowers you can send donations to the Solace House of the Ozarks at PO Box 4467, Joplin, MO 64803.
