Obituary for Johnny Dean DeMasters
Johnny Dean DeMasters, age 71 of Joplin, Missouri passed away on April 23, 2021 at his home.
Johnny was born on August 16, 1949 in Joplin, Mo to the late Johnny A. and Dora Mae (Collings) DeMasters. On May 2, 1975, Johnny was united in marriage to the love of his life Cheryl Harkrader. Johnny was a machinist. The best machinist if you were to ask his family. He built engines, specializing in racecar engines. He did contract work for the city of Joplin.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Cheryl DeMasters of the home, son Douglas Dean DeMasters of Joplin, Mo., and daughter Shelly Ann DeMasters of Joplin, Mo., one brother Danny DeMasters and wife Janet, as well as a host of extended family and loving friends.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Open visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 during regular business hours. Interment will be at Hornet Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
