Obituary for Reel Adam Boyd Jr.

On Saturday, December 12, 2020, Reel Adam Boyd Jr., passed away at the age of 69. Adam was born on October 19, 1951, in Washington, D.C. to Reel and Marion Boyd. Adam spent his career doing work he loved, to include service of 18 years with the US Army - Intelligence Branch. In 2014, he retired as an investigator from the State of Missouri - Board of Healing Arts.
In 1976 Adam married Robin Rosella Cusick. Together, they raised two children, Jennifer Boyd Webster and Adam Reel Boyd. Adam loved to travel the world. He enjoyed life on the lake, flying his plane, a great steak and a cold beer. There wasn’t a new gadget on the market that he didn’t buy. He was known for being strong willed, hardworking, and dependable.

Adam was preceded in death by his father, Reel, and his mother, Marion. He is survived by his wife Robin, his two children, Jennifer and Adam, and his sister, Patricia Distler. Adam was grandfather to four children, Zoe Anne Webster, Abigail Rose Webster, McKynzie Dawn Webster and Kyler Joseph Webster.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin. Cremation will follow the private family service with spreading of his ashes at a location he loved. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
