Obituary for Anne H. Landis

Anne H. Landis, age 80, passed away peacefully November 27, 2020 due
to a short illness. Anne was born July 12, 1940 in Tampa, Florida to Ned and Martha Hinson.
She grew up in Miami, Florida and Mobile, Alabama. She graduated from Coral Gables High
School in 1958 and attended the University of Alabama. Anne was married for 42 years to
Robert C. “Bob” Landis. Together they had three children, thirteen grandchildren and three great
grandchildren. Anne enjoyed being a homemaker raising her children and spending time with
her grandchildren.

Some of Anne’s favorite activities were playing tennis, reading, traveling, and playing
duplicate bridge. Anne was on the Women’s Board of Twin Hills Country Club. She volunteered
at both Freeman and St. John’s Hospitals and was a homebound shopper. Anne attended
several Bible studies, was an elder on the Presbyterian Board of YWCA, and was a member of
Wednesday Study Club.

Anne is survived by her two sons and their wives, Robert “Bobby” and Amy Landis,
Michael and Brandi Landis, her daughter, Kathleen Rivers, grandchildren Cole, Austin, Blake,
Gavin and Jaxon Landis; Grant, Garrett and Grayson Landis; Zackary and Tanner Rivers, Jacob
Porter, Clayton Flowers and 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Sally Potter, her
sister-n-law, Barbara Autrey, her nephew, Mark Autrey and her grandson, Ethan Rivers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 at One Church 2802
New Hampshire Ave., Joplin, MO. Burial will follow at Osborne Cemetery. Visitation will be
Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory from 6-8 pm.
Pallbearers are Cole Landis, Austin Landis, Blake Landis, Grant Landis, Garrett Landis, and
Zackary Rivers. Honorary pallbearers are Tanner Rivers, Gavin Landis, Jaxon Landis, Grayson
Landis, Jacob Porter and Clayton Flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
