Obituary for Norma Maxine Wendleton

Norma Maxine (Stover) Wendleton went to be with Jesus on October 19, 2020 at Mercy Joplin following an illness.

Norma Maxine was born in Cheyenne, WY on August 23, 1958 to Lyle D. and Dorothy (Snyder) Stover. As a young woman, Norma enlisted in the United States Army. On September 2, 1999, Norma was united in Marriage to Ronald Wendleton Jr. Norma was a caring and giving soul. She loved taking care of others. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. When she was not spending time with her family, Norma enjoyed volunteering. She impacted many lives with her time at We Care. Norma attended many churches in the Joplin area including the Sheep Shed and Seventh Day Adventist.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Robert Birch. She is survived by her husband Ron Wendleton of Joplin, MO., one son, Ronald Wendleton III and wife Sheresa of LaRussell, MO., three daughters; Chelsea Garoutte of Colorado Springs, CO., Shannon Cackley of Joplin, MO., and Deanna Sims of Minneapolis, MN., fifteen grandchildren; James Taylor, Duahshika Sims, Kordaie Robinson, Riley Crawford, Riot Beard, Chrystian Miller, Allie North, Ciera Woodbridge, Bailey Cackley, Dannielle Wendleton, Xavier Wendleton, Gabriella Wendleton, Jasmine Wendleton, Sophia Wendleton, and Harper Wendleton. Two great grandchildren Amiyah Gage and Prinston Gage. Three brothers; Dean Sims, Bryan Stover, and Don Stover and three sisters; Gay Lowry, Barbie Collett, Bonnie Walker.

Memorial service will be held at Seventh Day Adventist at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Family will receive friends during a time of visitation starting at 4:00 p.m. until service time.
