Obituary for Glenda B Boman

Glenda Belle (Macy) Smith Boman, age 81, of Diamond, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Saint Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage.

Mrs. Boman, daughter of the late John and Idabelle (Crabtree) Macy, was born on December 29, 1938 in Neosho, MO. She was united in marriage to Orville Lee Smith on December 29, 1953. Together they raised seven children. She was a preacher’s wife and a faithful Christian. In 1994 Orville preceded her in death. She was a member of the Leawood Village Church of Christ. She was previously employed as a school cook for numerous schools in the Joplin School District. In June of 1995 she was united in marriage to Delbert Boman at the Leawood Church of Christ. He survives.

Survivors include her husband, Delbert Boman, of Anderson; three sons, Larry Smith, and his wife, Kathlene, of Noel, Jeremy Smith, and his wife, Amy, of Granby, and Shawn Smith, and his wife, Kim, of Rogers; twelve grandchildren, Carly Grimes, Stevi Smith, Chauncey Ryan Huffman, Ryan Dale Smith, Brandon Glore, Christopher Paul Smith, Dyllan Kade Avery-Smith, Dalton Smith, Macy Smith, Angela Conklin, Nash Smith, and Daven Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four children, Jenny Glore, Gregory Paul Smith, Terry Ray Smith, and Jeffery Allen Smith; six brothers, Earl Steven Macy, William Dalton Macy, Donald Dale Macy, Orville Oneal (JR) Macy, Hubert Ray Macy, and Gary Lee Macy, three sisters, Avanell Drake, Ina Jean (Jeanie) Calef, and Rama Pauline Fisher.

**Service Changes** Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 10:30 am at the Saginaw Cemetery in Joplin. Online viewing of the funeral service will be available on our website www.masonwoodard.com. For more information please call the mortuary. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 27th from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Luke’s in memory of Glenda and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
