Obituary for Emmett F Southard
Emmett F. Southard, age 86 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Friday March 13, 2020.
He was born April 27, 1933 in Prosperity, Missouri to Forrest and Pauline (Jeans) Southard.
Emmett retired from Atlas Powder. He was a hard-working man who provided for his family and cared for them deeply. He served in the United States Army.
He married Valeria Greninger on December 5, 1955 and she survives. Emmett is also survived by two sons, Dewayne “Buck” Southard and wife Brenda, Joplin, Missouri, Kevin Southard and wife Roxy, Joplin, Missouri; one daughter Kelli Funderburk and husband Mark, Ozark, Missouri; six grandchildren, Justin Southard, Brian Southard, Kolby Southard, all of Joplin, Missouri, Kelsy Bentley, Jasper, Missouri, Stephanie Funderburk, State of Colorado, Bethanie Funderburk, State of Montana; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Carl, Southard as well as extended family and friends.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, John Southard, Don Southard, Bob Southard, Roy Southard, and three sisters, Betty Symack, Shirley Gibbs, and Mary Lou Southard.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary chapel. Burial with Military honors will follow at Fullerton Cemetery.
