Obituary for Betty L. McDonald (Turner)

Betty Lee McDonald, 93, of Joplin passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at Freeman Hospital.

Betty was born on November 23, 1926 in Minden, Mo to the late J.O. and Florence (Webb) Turner.

Betty was a dedicated worker. She was involved in sales for Sears and Roebuck and the Gas Service Company. Together, Betty married Carl McDonald on December 17, 1974 in Miami, Ok. Betty married Carl McDonald on December 17, 1974 in Miami, OK., togather Betty and Carl owned and operated a real estate management firm, serving the Joplin area for many years. In her free time, Betty volunteered her time with the St. Johns auxiliary. Betty was involved with the Carthage line dance group called The Retreads.

Betty was preceded in death by Carl on June 18, 1988 and her son Rodney L. Plumb on August 1, 2010

Betty is survived by two sons, Nelson Plumb, of Wentworth, Mo, and Kim A. Plumb, of Joplin, Mo. Six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 23, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction on Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
