Obituary for Mary B. Possehl (Certaro)
Mary B. Possehl (Certaro), age 57 of Joplin, Mo., passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Freeman Hospital.
Mary was born on October 2, 1962 in Paterson, N.J., the daughter of Ralph and Beverly (Cauda) Certaro. She has been a Joplin resident for 7 years, Mary worked as a Property Manager for Bell Management. She attended First Baptist Church in Joplin.
She married, Jay Hix on September 3, 2003, he survives. Additional survivors include her mother; Beverly Certaro, a son; Stephen Sierra and wife Etana of Winchester, Va., a sister; Arlene Maskal of Denville, N.J., and two brothers; Ralph Certaro of Las Vegas, Nv., and James Certaro of Haledon, N.J.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Certaro.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA or to the Joplin Humane Society.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation following the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
