Obituary for Marguerite A. Degraffenreid
Marguerite A. Degraffenreid, age 91, of Diamond, MO, passed away on October 8, 2019, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, following an illness.
Marguerite was born on February 7, 1928 in Bentonville, AR, the daughter of the late Leo and Nell (Ammons) McCallister. She has been a lifelong area resident. She married Ray Degraffenreid on May 6, 1950, together they raised one son. She was a devoted wife and mother. In her early years she worked as a secretary for Charles Grayston, Attorney and for Big Smith. She then worked many long hours on the family farm. She enjoyed sewing and tending to the farm livestock.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-nine years, Ray Degraffenreid, Diamond, MO; son, Joe Degraffenreid and wife Lisa, Diamond, MO; grandson, Cody Degraffenreid, Diamond, MO; great-grandson, Rory Degraffenreid; and brother, Tom McCallister and wife Betty, Oronogo, MO. She was preceded in death by brother, James C. McCallister; and sister, Leota Sinnard.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Nancy Hutson will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Cemetery. The pallbearers will be family members.
Memorial contributions may be given to Stone Cemetery in care of the mortuary.
