Obituary for Vivian E. George
Vivian E. George, passed away while surrounded by her family on September 24, 2019.
Vivian was born in Dixon, Mo., on August 20, 1927. She was the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Davis) Shackelford. She married Raymond George in 1946, he passed away on April 3, 2008. She worked for the Department of Defense as a publication manager retiring in 1986.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Philipps and her husband Dale of Joplin, and Connie Mace and her husband Jack Rowland of Joplin, Mo. A grandson Brad Mace of Joplin. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents her husband and a brother Luther Shackelford, and her sister Alice Randolph.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 4:00 - 5:00p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Mason Woodard Mortuary in Joplin, MO. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family request that any contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements are under the special care of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
