This my Aunt Char t as she liked being referred to. She was my Mother's sister. She was the sweetest ,caring and loving woman. She has my been my best friend since my mother passed away 20 years ago. She was never to busy to talk or listen to me. I will miss her daily until we meet again in Heaven. Love Jolene

Charlene was a Consumers icon. I had heard a lot about this head checker before I transferred to her store as a store manager. Dick Perkins, the District Manager had told me that everyone thought I was angry, so I should whistle. It was my misfortune to whistle “Camptown Races.” The next thing I knew, I had a nickname—Doodah. Charlene was an unflappable professional and a great lady. I never saw her show any anger, despite the mountain of craziness that was dealing with every imaginable retail situation. The world will never be the same.

I remember meeting Charlene for the first time years ago and thinking of how the Joy of the Lord just flowed from her. You enjoyed being around her. At Consumers, you always wanted to get in her line. She was good! I know today that she is in the arms of God and does he ever have a place prepared for her. It will knock her socks off. Can't wait to see her in heaven and visit this special lady who looks like she is 25 now. She is saying now to all of us Heaven is worth it all and if you could only see me now.
