Obituary for Geraldine Lee Longanecker (Massie)
Geraldine Lee Longanecker, age 88 of Joplin, Mo. passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019, at her home.
Geraldine was born on December 5, 1930, in Fairfield, Oh the daughter of the late Roy and Nettie (Severt) Massie. She worked for many years at The Van Company as a commercial seamstress until her retirement in 1994. Following her retirement, Geraldine and husband Donald moved to Lockwood in 1994, later moved to the Joplin area in 2002.
Geraldine was united in marriage to Donald Longanecker on December 30, 1950, he preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her daughter; Teri Longanecker of Joplin, two sons; Brian Longanecker and wife Shanna of Lockwood, Mo., Kevin Longanecker of Earp, Ca., eight grandchildren; Darren Oceguera and wife Citlalli, Vanessa Rogers and husband Zac, Keith Longanecker, Melissa Longanecker, Nicole McCormack and husband Taylor, Lucas Longanecker and wife Melanie, Ashley Longanecker and Colt Longanecker, and five great-grandchildren; Kade Rogers, Dylan Oceguera, Dalton Oceguera, Bryar Longanecker and Lane Longanecker.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Mason- Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Mo. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 7 pm on Friday evening at the mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
