Obituary for Christopher E. "Chris" Terry

Christopher E. “Chris” Terry, age 44, of Diamond, MO, was fully healed of cancer on Thursday August 1, 2019, at West Gate at Wildwood Ranch.

Chris was born on February 23, 1975 in Rogers, AR, the son of Donald and Elizabeth (Gripka) Terry. He has been an area resident most of his life. He graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1993. He received Bachelors of Science Degree in Physcology from MSSU. He married Whitney Robbins on June 1, 2002 in Joplin. Together they raised three children.

Chris began his career at the Ozark Center working in family preservation. He then worked as a case worker for special needs adults. During his illness he was a substitute teacher for Diamond Schools. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where he was very active in Church activities. His spare time was spent with his wife following their children’s many activities.
Chris is survived by his wife, Whitney Terry, Diamond, MO; their children, Kaden Judd, Kyler Terry, and Kendyl Terry, all of the home; parents Donald and Elizabeth Terry, Diamond, MO.; mother and father-in-law, Ron and Debbie Robbins, Joplin, MO; three brothers, Jim Staponski, Pierce City, MO, Rick Staponski and wife Cindy, Purdy, MO, and Nick Terry and wife Barbara, Maryville, MO.; sister and brother-in-law, Darcy and Allen Reed, Lamar, MO.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Staponski.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Fellowship Baptist Church. Pastor Ed Willoughby will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Allen Reed, Jacob Eaton, Chad Linder, Brandon Martin, Kelly Ross, Woody Friel, and Dave Culbertson. Honorary pallbearer will be Isaac Barringer and Mike Griffith.

The visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Monday at Fellowship Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Youth Fund at Fellowship Baptist Church.
