Obituary

Mary Lee Hildreth, age 85, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday July 24, 2019 at the Communities of Wildwood, following a long illness. Her strong faith in God sustained her to the end.

We lived next door to the Hildreth family during my early childhood years through 1st grade. I remember Mary as my mother's friend, and as my friend Susan's mother. She was good at everything she did. When we would see Mary in passing during the years that followed, she was always friendly. That neighborly feeling we got when we saw her never faded or went away. Seeing her was like reuniting with an old friend because - it was! Mary made it that way. Hers was a life well-lived. My condolences to Susan and Bruce.

Met Mary Lee first as my mother's Avon Lady. Then mine. Then as Susan's mother. She was always a class act. She always recognized me, even if she couldn't recall my name in later years. Would ask about my life and listen as if it were the most interesting story she'd heard all day. So sorry for your loss, Susan and family.
