Obituary for Edith "Virginia" Baggerly
Edith “Virginia” Baggerly, age 96, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday June 8, 2019, at Joplin Health and Rehab Center, following an illness.
Virginia was born on February 25, 1923 in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of the late Millard Frank and Edith (Long) Morgan. She has been a lifetime area resident. She married John Baggerly on October 30, 1943 in Joplin. Together they raised four daughters. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Baggerly on July 29, 2011; two brothers, Frank and Van Morgan; two sisters, Elizabeth Howard and Helen Eggers; and one grandson, Brian Wideman.
Virginia is survived by four daughters, Sharon Wideman, Broken Arrow, Ok., Nancy Hunt and husband Robert, Baxter Springs, Ks., and twins, Darlene Mahan and husband Dan, Joplin, and Marlene Gooch, Joplin; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
