Obituary for Audrey M. Gaw
Audrey Mae Gaw (Gentry) age 94, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 6, 2019.
Audrey was born to Tom and Rosie Gentry on October 9, 1924 in Monroe County, Kentucky.
Audrey met her husband, Jesse Gaw in 1940 at the spring near their homes in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. They married in 1944 and were blessed with eight children.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, and by her children, Jessica Ann Murphy, Sheila Richards, and Daniel Gaw, and by her siblings, James Gentry, Gwen Pruitt and Pauline Gardner.
Audrey is survived by her children, Sandra Bray (Larry), James Gaw (Cathy), Joy Woodhull (Michael), John Gaw, Laura Jane Wolfe (Jeff) and her grandchildren, Jeff Murphy, Melinda Bridges, Stana Gaw, Heather Burroughs, Gentry Gaw, Lindsey Gaw, Sean Gaw, Charles Woodhull, Brian Woodhull, Andrew Woodhull, Hillary Biggers, Rachel Wolfe, Jack Wolfe and Jacob Wolfe along with 20 great-grandchildren, and by her siblings Allene Landis, Pearl Butler, Jewell Waters, Joe Gentry, and Judy Hoover, and her beloved cat, Simon.
Audrey loved to travel and was able to visit all 48 continental states, spending her 88th birthday in a hot air balloon at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. Audrey was a long-time member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church and had an unwavering faith in God.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Harmony Heights Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Osborne Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 12th from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
