Obituary for Rita Carrick
Rita G. Carrick, age 62 of Diamond, Missouri passed away Sunday May 26th 2019 in Columbia, Missouri after a short illness.
Rita was born on 11/20/1956 to Ed and Faynell Heckmaster. She met the love of her life Jiggs Carrick and they wed on Christmas Eve 1980, going on to have one son, Amos. Rita was a wonderful wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She spent her days gardening and taking care of her family.
Rita was preceded in death by her father Ed Heckmaster Sr. and her mother Faynell Miksell- Heckmaster. She is survived by her husband Jiggs, her son Amos, his wife Jessica and her two grandchildren Hailey Martin and Silas Carrick of Diamond. She is also survived by one sister Melody Heckmaster- McCutcheon and her husband Wayne McCutcheon of Diamond and two brothers, Steve Heckmaster and wife Diana of Joplin, and another brother.
Memorial Visitaion will be held on Thursday May 30th from 6-8pm at Mason-Woodard Mortuary 3701 E. 7th St. in Joplin, MO. Private graveside services to be held at a later date. Donations can be made through Mason- Woodard to a memorial fund established in her name.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
