Obituary for Wayne Adkins
George “Wayne” Adkins, age 62, of Diamond, passed away on Monday March 4, 2019, at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Wayne was born on December 19, 1956 in Miami, Ok., the son of the late George W. and Juanita Adkins. He has been a resident of the area for the past ten years. He married Debbie Roughton Laughlin on May 27, 2006 in Webb City. He was a member of First Baptist of Diamond. He worked as a Commercial Roofer for sixteen years for Advantage Roofing Company. He enjoyed his family and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife Debbie ; three step-sons, Shawn Laughlin, and wife Alisa, Broken Arrow, Ok., Adam Laughlin and wife Sarah, Broken Arrow, Ok., and Christopher Laughlin and wife Kelli, Henrietta, Ok.; one sister, Sharon Williams, Greenfield, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and one niece Lindsey Delane Adkins, his mother-in-law, Momma Carol. He was preceded in death by one sister, Delane Adkins.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Reverend Ron Crow will officiate. Burial will be in Burkhart Cemetery, Racine, Mo. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church of Diamond in care of the mortuary.
