Obituary for Regina M. Reid (Stehm)

Regina Reid, beloved wife, mom, daughter, sister and most of all Memaw, raced her way to heaven after a short illness. She passed away in her loving husbands arms on February 22, 2019.

She leaves behind so many that will miss her love, laughter, and sassy attitude. Her husband of 44 years William Wayne Reid, two daughters, Charity Meadows and husband Aaron, Christin Peterson, her 5 grandchildren, Elijah, Emma, Ayden, Wesley and Evan. Her mother Helen Aileen Stehm, sisters Julie Hook and Johna Summers and her brother Frank Stehm and wife Carma, sister-in-law Ann Pace, many, many nieces and nephews, as well as life long girlfriends, church and work family.


Regina Marie Reid was born on October 4, 1956 to the late John Wesley Stehm and Helen Aileen (Rhodes) Stehm in Joplin, Mo. She was a lifetime reisdent of the Joplin Area. Regina attended Joplin highschool and graduated with the class of 1974.

She married the love of her life William Wayne Reid on June 7, 1974. Together they would raise two daughters and enjoy weekends camping, boating, fishing and many many long softball games and tournaments. Later they would enjoy 5 grandchildren.

Regina worked as an accounting clerk her whole adult life, including Explo Dynamite, Fleming Foods, TDC, and lastly Freeman Health Systems. She enjoyed working and the family it created. She made lifelong friendships with every job she had. She will be missed at her weekly dinner dates with her girlfriends.

Regina was a member of the Wildwood Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and life and enjoyed sharing both with everyone she met. She loved family, friends,cooking, gardening, shoes, jewelry and crazy purses, running 5k's and half marathons and most of all her precious rowdy grandkids. She was also famous for her homemade pickles. She lived a full, vibrant life and was the most content person. She leaves behind a hole that can never be filled with the same love, laughter and attitude that she had. She was one of a kind much like her dad.

Her Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at Wildwood Baptist Church in Joplin. In lieu of flowers she would like donations to be made to the Wildwood Baptist Church building fund 4827 E 20th St. Joplin, MO 64801.
