Obituary for Orissa "Risa" C. Doyle

Orissa C. “Risa” Doyle, age 84, of Joplin, passed away on Thursday November 1, 2018, at local nursing home, following an illness.

Risa was born on July 13, 1934 in Joplin, the daughter of the late Lee and Louie (Gourley) Gayler. She has been a lifetime area resident. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1952. She then graduated from Joplin Business College. Risa married Robert Doyle on April 25, 1952 in Huntsville, Ar., together they raised three daughters. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Joplin Stock Yards and was a supervisor for the Missouri Department of Revenue. She was a member of Park Plaza Christian Church. Risa had a tender heart for all animals. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, bowling and painting. Risa was the Queen of the crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit.

Risa is survived by her loving husband Robert Doyle, Joplin; three daughters, Cindy Lawson and husband Doug, Joplin, Mo., Angie Minshall and husband Steve, Grain Valley, Mo., and Julie Rowan and husband Mark, Carl Junction, Mo.; six grandchildren, Bethany Lawson, Brandon Lawson and wife Madina, Blaine Lawson, Cory Minshall and wife Katie, Stacey Barnoskie and husband Asa, Kyle Rowan and wife Kate; seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle Lawson, Audri Minshall, Stella Minshall, Fletcher Minshall, Isaiah Barnoskie, Elliana Barnoskie and McKynli Barnoskie; and two sisters, Wanda Owen and husband John, Springfield, Mo., and Barbara Isgrigg, Joplin. She was preceded in death by one brother, Cleve Gayler; and two sisters, Twyla Smith and Sharon Cogbill.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday November 5, 2018 at Park Plaza Christian Church. B.A. Austin,
Minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 4 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Park Plaza Christian Church the in care of the mortuary.
