Mount Vernon, Mo. Harold R. Johnson, age 80, of Mount Vernon, Mo. passed away at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Springfield, Mo. Harold was born May 8, 1938 in Kansas City, Mo. and had lived in Mount Vernon for the last year, moving there from Corpus Christi, Texas, Harold retired from the U. S. Navy in 1977 following over 21 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba June, a daughter, Elisa Suckstroff, and a sister, Joyce Buchanan. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy French and husband Bob, Fairdale, Ky., a son, Mark Johnson and wife Kelly, Fort Meyers, Fl., a brother, Edward Johnson and wife Bessie, Neosho, Mo., five grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Mo. The casket will be closed at all times.
