Obituary for Marie L. Zinn

Marie Morris Zinn, age 91, of Joplin, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2007, following a long illness. She was a resident of National Health Care in Joplin.
Marie was born on February 8, 1916 in Sweetwater, Mo. to the late Clarence E. White and Sara Ethel Gilmore White. She attended school at Mt. Zion and later married Champ N. Morris on November 11, 1934. After his death in December of 1970, Marie married James Zinn in April of 1971. He also preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Joplin. Marie was also a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Freda Alderman and husband Glenn of Joplin; two brothers, James White, of Little Rock, Ark. and Raymond White, of The Dallas, Or.; one sister, Violet Parsons, of Little Rock; one sister-in-law, Fay Goodman, of Independence, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eugene Morris; one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel. Reverend Gerald Bass will officiate. Burial will be in Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Grandsons and Great Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to the Freewill Baptist Church Family Life Center in care of the mortuary.
