Obituary for E.L. Rusty Quillin

E. L. “Rusty” Quillin, age 93, of Joplin, Mo. went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2007 following a short illness. Rusty was born on April 29, 1914 in Joplin, the son of Clarence Quillin and Lena Johns Quillin and sibling to Richard Quillin and Ethel Moon. Rusty married Ethel Mae Brotherton on June 25, 1932 in Joplin. She preceded him in death on March 4, 2005. During his working career, he had spent over 25 years at the Junge and Safeway Bakery as a Baker. He and his wife also owned and operated the Sports Haven Café at Twin Bridges during the early 1970’s. Rusty was an avid St Louis Cardinal’s fan and he enjoyed his time fishing. He is survived by 3 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Quillin; and his daughter, Delores Farris. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6-7 p.m. Monday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
