Hester Katherine Larkin, 93 of Joplin Missouri, passed away Friday July 20, 2012 after a short illness. She was born October 21, 1918 in Littrell, Arkansas to Jack and Effie Dill Eaton. Hester attended Forest Park Baptist Church and has lived in Joplin since 1942.

She married George Larkin in 1935 at Fayetteville, Ark. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and a great great grandson.

Hester is survived by 3 sons, George “Larry” Larkin and wife Diana, Joplin, Missouri; Ron Larkin and wife Sandy, Monett, Missouri; Steven Larkin and wife Carol, Miami, Okla,; 1 daughter Clara West and husband Kenneth, Joplin, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00am Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Roger Hasselquist, minister officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7:00pm to 8:00pm Monday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice for their compassionate care to Hester. Services have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
