Jean Plank, age 79, of Carthage, Mo. passed away at 6:44 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at her home. Jean was born August 28, 1938 in Malden, Mo. She returned to the Carthage area 18 years ago after living many years in St. Louis. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant for a State Mental Hospital in St. Louis for over 40 years. Jean was a member of the Diamond Grove Christian Church.

Jean married Kenneth Plank September 14, 1961. He preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include four brothers, Carlos Richards (Juanita), Sarcoxie, Mo. Cletis Richards (Elizabeth), Carthage, Mo., Robert Richards (Darlene), Goodman, Mo., and Terry Richards, Joplin, two sisters, Joy Matthews (Tommy), Manning, South Carolina, and Susie McCabe, Sumter, South Carolina.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Kurt Fluharty, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow at the Fidelity Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
