Obituary for Larry Bollman

Larry Bollman
Larry E. Bollman, age 75, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday October 17, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer & Parkinson’s disease.
Larry was born on November 28, 1941 in Coffeyville, KS, the son of the late Raymond W. and Grace (Tilton) Bollman. He attended Electronics Technical School in Wichita, KS. and Pueblo, New Mexico. He married Maxine Drummond on August 13, 1961 in rural SE KS and together they raised two children. He was a member of the Prairie Flower Bible Church.
Larry (cb handle, “Ramblin’ Boy”), worked as a owner/operator truck driver, until health would no longer allow it. Starting in his youth on the Bollman Dairy, Larry drove and appreciated many makes and models of trucks thru the years. However, he was always partial to the cab over, CAT powered tractors. For the bigger part of his career, he drove for Cyrus Truck Line, pulling tankers & hauling fuel to the Yellow Freight yard in Baxter Springs, KS. His mechanical and mathematical knowledge allowed him to always work on his own equipment, which he enjoyed. He and Maxine also enjoyed western swing dancing while traveling in the Southwest and Texas.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Maxine Bollman, Joplin, MO; one son, William Bollman and wife Angela, Carthage, MO; one daughter, Sabreana Kassner and husband Wally, Stark City, MO.; and three grandsons, Tye, Cody, and Cooper Bollman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Prairie Flower Bible Church in Webb City, Mo. Pastor Dave Ernst, (assisted by Matt Cawyer) will officiate. Burial of Ashes will follow the service at Edna Cemetery in Edna, Ks. On Larry’s final run, (over the same route he drove for years), he will be joined by a tribute convoy of semi trucks.
Memorial contributions may be given to Cal Farley Ranch of Amarillo, TX in care of the mortuary.
