Obituary for Judith Herron (Wallace)

Judith Herron (Wallace)
Judy Anne (Wallace) Herron, age 71, departed from this life to enter the gates of heaven on May 28, 2016.
Judy was born on December 20, 1944 to Mikal and Rose Wallace in St. Louis, MO. As a young woman, her greatest joys in life were her daughters – Rose and Mary. She was a devoted mother, volunteering at their school and family parish, Seven Holy Founders. Judy was also a Girl Scout leader for both girls for many years. Prior to having children, and after their father passed away in 1981, she was a secretary at many offices around St. Louis. In 1988, Judy moved to Joplin, MO and opened a decorating store downtown. She enjoyed all phases of decorating and remodeling, and had an interest in purchasing rental homes, remodeling them, and renting them out.
In 1998, Judy met and married the greatest love of her life, Floyd Herron. In marrying Floyd she gained three more daughters, and many grandchildren and eventually great grandchildren! They were married at Sacred Heart Church in Webb City, where they remain members, and enjoyed the fellowship of their church family greatly in their senior years. They enjoyed each other’s company and traveled together, interspersed with remodeling properties. She always had a wonderful work ethic and enjoyed all of her jobs throughout life.
She is preceded in death by her precious husband Floyd in 2014, along with several of Floyd’s sisters.
Survivors include: two daughters – Mary (Cooper) Skistimas and husband John of Joplin, Missouri, Rose (Cooper) Kopecky and husband Chris of Leawood, KS; brother Jim Wallace and wife Carol of St. Louis, Missouri; three step daughters – Debbie Palmer and husband Buddy of Lewisville, TX, Barbra Wooley and husband Jon of Joplin, MO and Shannon Webb and husband Dr. Wayne Webb of Diamond, MO; nine grandchildren - Robbie Skistimas Lee, Samantha and Sabrina Kopecky, Nathan and Jared Palmer, Caleb DeVillier, Chance Wooley, Dr. Brandon Webb, Jessica Poindexter; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday June 6th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City, MO. Father Rahab Isidor will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be given to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
