Condolences

Condolence From: Amy Wilson
Condolence: He was a wonderful science teacher. I was in his science class in 1987-1989 at Baxter Middle School. I remember his big hairy spider he would let crawl all over him in class sometimes. I was always scared it would jump off of him and on me. He would always say they are just as scared of you as you are of them. He took us on bug hunts too. He made science fun. He will be missed. Sorry for your loss. Praying for Gods peace and comfort for you all.

Condolence From: Kathleen Steele, MAJ, USAR, AN
Condolence: Mrs. Metsker, your husband was my jr high science teacher @ St. Peter's. While I thought he was inordinately tough at the time, the experiences from his classes made high school and college biology classes a breeze. I remember the saltwater aquarium, playing paper football, bug and twig collections. He was one of those individuals who has truly made a positive difference here on earth and is a hero to many in many different ways. May you be comforted by the warm embrace of God's hands.

Condolence: I had Mr. Metsker for middle school science. He was the best science teacher I had and so much fun in the classroom. I will never forget his hot-air balloon video!

Condolence: Linda, I am very sorry for your loss. I have lots of fond memories of spending days at your house watching the "Martian Chronicles" while you & momma sat in the kitchen, and Dad & Richard went to the den. He will be missed.
Love you very much & praying for you always!

Condolence: You will be so missed little brother. We loved you from first sight. We remember how you loved the mother nature things, and your gathering things for your students on trips to Idaho. I think we even gathered some with you then. To Lynda, we love you and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Condolence: Mr. Metsker was my 8th grade Science teacher at BMS. I am now a teacher there myself. He was a great man with lots of stories to make class interesting. One of our lessons was about blood types and how certain types were not compatible so he told us to ask our potential mate, "Hey, baby what's your blood type?" This story has stuck with me for 20 years! He always kept a pack of smokes tucked away in his socks. After lunch, he would stand outside the school to chat with the students while smoking his cigarette. He will be truly missed. God rest his soul. I pray for peace and comfort for his family.

Condolence From: Heather Bradley
Condolence: My mom, Vicki Bradley, works at the school district and she told me this morning of Mr. Metsker's passing - I was SO sad. I had him in 8th grade for science and I think a history class, too.
He always had kind words, words of advice and a joke to tell, along with all of the stories about being in the service. He always made us all laugh and treated us with respect, which made us treat him with respect, too.
I remember the pet tarantula we had and him letting us play paper football at the big table in the back if we finished our homework in class instead of waiting to do it. I also remember the war stories and his laugh when he'd get to the punchline. We were always right there cracking up with him.
Metsker really did make an impact on us all - I want you all to know that. And I also want to thank you for sharing him with us, because he really did make a difference. Sometimes, you know how it is, teachers are really authoritative and you don't really feel like you get very close to them, but Metsker wasn't like that at all. I don't think I ever heard anyone say anything bad about the man, because he was just awesome. Definitely one of a kind and he will DEFINITELY be missed.
You all are in our prayers - heaven's really gained a good one. :) Love and hugs!
