Obituary for Frances Fran Irwin

Frances E. “Fran” Irwin, age 78 of Joplin, MO passed away Thursday November 6, 2014 at her home. She was born on July 14, 1936 in Joplin the daughter of Gaylon and Reatha Bowers Hammond. Fran was a lifelong residence of Joplin working for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 22 years retiring in 1996. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Darlene Phillips. Survivors include a brother; Spurgeon Patton of Florida, two sons: Russell Hay and Randy Hay; two daughters: Lori Hay-Matejcek and Gera Irwin; eight grandchildren: Natalie Hamilton, Angela, GaLynn and Vincent Hay, Jennifer and Kimberly Matejcek, Brant Owens and Tevon Reed; four great grandchildren: Anika and Josiah Hay, Caitlin Boyd and Madison Carmen all of Joplin; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday November 10, 2014 at the Ozark Memorial Cemetery with Chaplin Steve Cooper officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
